{POEM}: GOD IS IN SIN

                      God is in sin

They say God is everywhere

God must be in any bottle that opens  into
Your mouth
Or any smoke that puff out of it
So when you talk
The world may smell heaven in your saliva

They say God is everywhere

God must be in your veins
When you hold a girl's hand
Or joke with her about her lively hips
So when you spread your palms
A river can grow out of your sweat

God is everywhere

God is in dark corners too
Resting with a girl on a car's bonnet
When a boy needs the light of her teeth to see himself.

You're hungry
They'd say God is in your belly cooking
A sumptuous future
But you can smell nothing

They say God is everywhere doing miracles

Is God in Sambisa forest too
where hundreds of innocent girls are turned into empty lands;
Toiled on by some faceless farmers in every season ?

Is God in Borno
Where every stream that flowed peace is dried
And people die everyday like wandering ants ?

What about Yemen where war is a flood
Running through every household
And carting happiness away
where cholera has become a virulent wind
Whirling people into untimely end ?

Is God in Iran?
Is God in Pakistan?
Is God in Nigeria?
Is God in Syria ?
And all those places the moon doesn't visit?

Is God only where the sun shines and sets when due?

No!

God is everywhere
I've found him In war and death
In genocide and silence
In suicide and justice
In murder and injustice

I have found God even in sin
