LASSA fever kills two in Lagos.

Reports reaching in from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) is that there had been an advent of Lassa Fever in the hospital, and this has left two persons dead including a pregnant woman. Hundreds of people who are suspected and confirmed to have come in close range with any of the two death cases are being kept under close surveillance. A resident doctor of the Anatomy and molecular pathology department is also being watched and treated after participating in the autopsy on the dead woman.
The Chief Medical Director(CMD) of LUTH, disclosed that the two death cases were recorded because the patients were brought too late to the hospital,  which limited the hospital in the number of tests they could conduct before their deaths. He further said that  the pregnant woman died and a post Morten was conducted on her before her lassa fever status was suspected and confirmed.
The CMD went on to calm down the mind of people that the Lagos State government and the Federal Ministry of Health are on top of the situation and are doing as much as they can to contain the menace alongside other epidemics, and that the residents of lagos and other parts of the country have no need to worry.
