THE SWIFT JOURNEY

I journeyed here,the road was smooth
I'm not just here to soothe
She is agile as you told me
She is an epitome of beauty
Her hair is as brown as a berry
Her lips looks so soft like an igneous rock
Her chin like that of a mouthful squirrel
She is comely dark
Which I like
My heart raced as our eyes met

Then I decided to meet her
But what will I say
I understood no language in Norway
I proceeded
But my heart was clouded
I approached her at last
But I think I'm lost
How?
My mind went blank
Though not because I'm black
All in a sudden
Courage came upon me like the dove came upon Jesus of Nazareth

I moved close to her
I told her my name
I also apologized for the interruption
I asked her of her name
She replied me in a cloying calm voice
"Camilla, takk skal du ha"

My heart beat faster as she replied me in Norwegian
I knew it
This will happen
I told her she's beautiful
She smiled and said "takk så mye"
I became speechless and confused
She understood me but why can't she?
Why can't she reply me with the same language
I decided to leave and call it a day
When she asked me "where are you from sire?"
I stood still
My eyes almost popped out
I became nutty as a fruit cake in within me
So she understood me all this while
But why?
Why?

I was about to reply her
When I felt something tight on my leg
I was about looking down
Tshh - Tshh - Tshh
It all went like a shot
Then I realised it has all been a dream
I'm back to my own small farm
My brother's Python curling tightly to my leg
She woke me, I must admit
I tried to go back but everywhere was dark
It as all disappeared like phantoms
I packed her up
Put her in my sac
I left for home
